Reading is a great way of educating your child in many different ways, whether it be in the example of godly character, actual
events, or cultural lifestyles.
It was because of reading these types of books that I’ve been able to go to far away places, without even leaving my house; meeting godly piers that have encouraged me in my walk with Christ; and witness the once in a lifetime events of many people’s lives.
While I was in high school, my parents purchased our first kindle. It was on this that we were supposed to purchase our literature books for the year. I found this option to be a great money saver. I mean the device itself wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t expensive, either, but the money you save on books!
I know today’s teens don’t always like to read classics or those revolting secular reads, either, which puts them in a hard place, because the good books aren’t always offered and displayed. This is why I’ve decided to put together a list of some good, but “modern” books for your teens to read!
Good Kindle Books for Teens:
- Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations
- Chasing Jupiter
- Duncan’s War
- Rebel’s Keep
- The Betrayal: A Novel on John Calvin
- The Thunder: A Novel on John Knox
- Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander
- River Rampage
- Alone, Yet Not Alone
- Haunted Waters
- In Front of God and Everybody
- Soul Surfer
I have read several of these books and found them very good and the others, I’ve heard about and/or know of some trusted resources who recommend these.
Not all these books you can count as “school,” unless you want to, but I would think the books The Betrayal, The Thunder, Alone, Yet Not Alone, and Duncan’s War, just might be suitable for some school credit.
Do you have any recommendations that are clean, Christian, and entertaining for teens that you can add to this list?
