Math and I aren’t the best of friends, but we aren’t complete enemies, although we do have our battles. In school, math was by far not my favorite subject, but I did really well with it, scoring an A.
I didn’t start doing math until I was really 9 years old, but before that time I was doing hands-on math, such as counting beans, adding and subtracting them, math flash cards, cooking, etc. By the time I started a math curriculum (Math-U-See), I did one and a half math books in one year.
I got it.
I really didn’t have to much of a struggle with math until I met Algebra. Yeah, he and I have an agreement that we will not meet again until my children are in high school, and maybe never, depending on if my future husband is a math wiz…that would be great!
If you are just introducing math to your children, or if they are in their beginning years of arithmetic, these math stories just might be the thing that keeps them interested…
