I love cowboys.
It was about eight years ago that I really became interested. I borrowed books from the library, discovered the most fabulous TV channel…TVLAND, which showed Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and a few other classics. My mom introduced us to The Lone Ranger, and I found Roy Rogers later on. Fascination at the dueling gun fights, galloping horses and they accompanying rider, those incredible hats, and the manners toward the ladies. It was from the influence of Bonanza that my little brother, Mathias, learned to flirt, thankfully it was to my mom!
Still to this day I love the cowboy life. In fact, one of my birthday gifts was a cowboy hat! I couldn’t resist.
A list of Picture Books and Easy Readers About Cowboys:
Sometimes I like to imagine living back in the days, sitting as a family in front of the small black and white television set to watch the most popular western shows that displayed cowboy heroism, outlaws, gun fights, and yet were safe enough for even the youngest family to watch them. A lot to say compared to TV today.
Remember that game, Cowboys and Indians? If I’m correct, it is still played to this day.
