Raising children is no small feat. What brings that up another notch is raising children for Christ! Not only are you doing the basics of parenting (feeding, clothing, nurturing, etc.), you are also working on their hearts. You are teaching them how to love, as Christ loved. You try your best to teach them the BEattitudes.
Raising children for Christ is a daily battle, but the reward is priceless.
When I think of one day, having children myself, I have two emotions: 1). Complete Excitement, and 2.) a Panic attack. Do you know why?
It isn’t because I don’t know how to take care of a child, or know how to love them, it is because I’m not sure I will do a good job with their souls. What if I don’t teach them enough about their God and Father? What if I don’t show them God’s love like I should? This is the only reason I feel scared about having children. They are priceless gifts that we need to raise to know and love God, but also to be able to raise them up to be equipped enough to raise their own children in the ways of the Lord.
A quote that always strikes my heart-strings is this: “God has no grandchildren”. So few words, but such impact!
A list of books young Christian boys should read:
- YWAM Heroes of History for Young Readers
- The Kingdom Series
- Knights of Arrethrae
- 10 Boys Who Changed the World
- Concord Cunningham
- The Sugar Creek Gang
- The Case for Christ
- The Case for Faith
- The Answers Books for Kids
- Teddy’s Buttons
- The Birds Nest
- The Squire and the Scroll
I have read so many of these books, and so has my brothers, and the stories are both intriguing and share such truths about our Lord and Savior, which is super awesome, because sometimes boys need more adventure and drama than girls do, but that is because God made them that way…
What books do you recommend that every young Christian boy should read?
