As Christians, we are always looking for ways to read more of God’s word. Some people are amazing at reading the Bible everyday, 365 days of the year. Others read the Bible whenever they have time in their busy schedule. Christian parents, especially want to get their children to read God’s word everyday to learn about His will. You want to encourage your child to read the Bible. With these 5 book series, you will be able to encourage your child to read the Bible, because of how these books were written.
I myself have made a commitment to read more of God’s word this year, and am currently on schedule to finish reading the whole Bible in 90 days! (I should finish on February 15th). I have already told myself that I will read the Bible everyday afterward and dig deeper into the scriptures. I can’t tell you how it makes me feel to read the Bible every day. I feel…different.
5 book series that will encourage your child to read the Bible:
I’m not going to guarantee that these books will make your child read the Bible, but I do feel that they will encourage them, because they certainly encouraged me to start reading my Bible more frequently.
It has been said that one can find the answers to all of life’s mysteries in the Bible. The Word of God is sufficient to meet all our needs. Finding the answers requires at least a basic knowledge of the Bible and readers will be challenged to solve the mysteries without the advantage of a concordance, but Concord Cunningham is a boy who has discovered the value of a concordance and uses it to solve mysteries in his community. His success brings him acclaim, and a reputation as “Scripture Sleuth”. will reveal the source of the answer in Scripture.
The Kingdom Series
Get your kids on an adventure of a lifetime as they travel back in the days of my Adam, Moses, and Jesus. This series is an allegory to the Bible, but brings to life the events during those days of the Bible. Sword fights, the Silent warriors (God’s army) versus the Shadow warriors (Devil’s army), relate-able evils and the fight to defeat them. Your kids will be at the edge of their seats as they follow along with the story and will declare “For the King..and His Son!”
The Farm Mystery Series
Join Jason and Andy as they try to solve the mysterious happenings on the Nelson family’s farm. These are books that the whole family will enjoy. The boys learn lessons in obedience and responsibility while having lots of fun. There are no worldly situations or language, and no boy-girl relationships. Just happy and wholesome Christian family life, with lots of everyday adventure woven in.
The Trailblazer Series
When the stories of missionaries and Christian heroes are told through the eyes of children, you see things in a totally new light, not only that, but it is very relative to your children, so they can follow along better. Give your children the evidence of what can happen when we truly follow and obey God’s will for us.
The Sugar Creek Gang
Once your kids join in the faith-building adventures of Bill Collins and the rest of the gang, they’ll discover that Sugar Creek is anything but a quiet little town. Your kids will be fascinated when the gang capture a robber, escape a killer bear, and other thrilling and adventurous situations these kids seem to find themselves apart of. Each member of the Sugar Creek Gang is a Christian boy, who wants to do what is right and be a good example, but it can be a little difficult with Shorty Long and Bob Till always causing a ruckus. Will they show God’s love?
I just got so excited, because I found out that they have new books for the Farm Mystery Series! That is super cool.
I always love coming across good series like the ones above, where I can read them and not worry about what I am reading and in fact, know that I am learning something…
Is there a series that you would suggest?
