Have you ever wished to go on a missionary trip with your family? I have. My desire was to test my faith in Christ and to grow in Him. As of this time, I haven’t gone on a mission, at least not the mission most people think of when they talk about mission trips, but my life is a mission field. I have the opportunity to spread God’s word with others around me, whether they are complete strangers or my family, who I see every day.
Whenever I read these 3 missionary stories and series for kids that happen to be on our music room shelves, I am continually challenged in my walk with the Lord. I am sure others are, as well, I mean, I can’t image them not being challenged!
3 missionary stories and series for kids:
- Trailblazer Series
This series is super awesome! It takes you on an adventure of a lifetime with your children, as travel back in time to the days of our Christian heroes…where the stories are told through the eyes of young children, during those days. You will learn about Amy Carmichael as she rescues orphans, read about David Livingstone, missionary to Africa, and many, many more!
- YWAM Christian Heroes: Then & Now
Written specifically to challenge readers with the powerful lives of Christians who have profoundly shaped history, these books answer today’s call for positive role models and for opportunities to see how God works through the lives of those who follow Him. These exciting true stories inspire readers as they witness the amazing lives of these heroes unfold.
- Missionary Stories with the Millers
Experience thrilling adventure as the Christian missionaries on these pages meet witch doctors, disease, drought, hate-filled guerillas, a Bible thief, and killer cats. Each story is based on actual happenings from the lives of real people
I loved reading the Trailblazer books and the YWAM books, and still to this day I read YWAM books on occasions. Every time I finish reading these books, I am encouraged to stay strong in my walk with the Lord and challenge my faith, by asking some questions I would have otherwise not have even thought of, which causes my love for my Creator to grow.
